So my hands were itching to try this technique i saw on Jennifermcguireink youtube channel….Distressinks plus iron off embossing.
I love Jennifermcguire tutorials they are great!
I thought to enter this as a second entry in Artful Crafting Challenge #7. This is the card i came up with…not as pretty as in the videos but a good first try 😉
I heat embossed a BoBunny doily stamp multiple times in clear embossing powder to create a background on Strathmore watercolor paper.
i then randomly applied Pumice Stone, Evergreen Bough, Barn Door and Squeezed Lemonade Distress inks (All of which are available at Artful Crafting and at sale prices too !!)
I then took a Mister bottle and added some pearl powder i had lying around in my stash into plain water to make my own Shimmer mist. I spritz the inked cardstock generously with water to kind of blend all the inks together and let it dry on its own completely.
I then covered the cardstock with normal typing paper on both sides and used an Iron to iron off the clear embossing powder to get a sort of white bleached look.
I then embellished the card with some Spellbinders diecuts, punched butterflies and mulberry flowers and used my wink of stella brush pen in silver to add more Shimmer. here are a few more closeups.
i stamped a sentiment and heat embossed it in gold. i adhered the cardstock to a turquoise card base.
I hope you like this Card 😉
