The second challenge is live on Artful Crafting!!! The DT members projects are just fabulous!!! So the project calls for unusual stamping….using stamps as something other than a sentiment or image. I came up with this keeping in mind “less is more”. It is an altered paper mâché box that I got from Artfulcrafting =)
I started off with applying gesso primer to the box inside and out.
I then applied acrylic paint in Crimson to the whole box.
I randomly stamped the box with Rangers Archival Black Ink from a stamp set ‘Blue Print” i got from Creative Party Favors.
I used Prima wire thread in Stark White to make wreath for the lid. It looked bland to me so i randomly applied Peeled Paint Distress ink pad directly over it to give it a more natural look.
I heat embossed a Chipboard Diecut word “LOVE” from Dusty Attic in black. Before applying embossing powder i randomly added some pearl powder from Lemon Etc in Iridescent Gold and then added the Rangers Clear Embossing Powder and heat set it.
I stamped a small butterfly from a rubber stamp (on plain cardstock) I got from Creative party Favours and heat embossed it in black.
I then colored it with Broken China and Picked Raspberry Distress inks (Love the Colors and how they merge into one another!!!) i added a centre bling to it and viola i have got an embellishment made from a stamp!!!=)
I embellished the wreath further with some mulberry flowers and leaves and a pinecone that i colored using Colorbox Gold Inkpad.
I added a small metal charm saying “Love and Beloved”. And Tadaaaa! the box is complete!
So i think i did justice to ‘Less is More”.
I had fun altering the box and i hope that all of you will like it too!
